Friend of mine is considering to buy a mk5 Polo 6N2 1.4 SE. He does not know anything about car, so I am getting on the case and look for a decent one for him. Can I have some valuable advices regarding buying a 6N2? such as what are their common faults and what else I have to be aware of while I am testing and viewing the car?? Welcome to any comments and many thanks in advance. Cheers
Samuel

Ask if the pedal box has been replaced as they tend to break on the 6n2's. If it has its gonna save you a small fortune (if done through VW -they quoted me £800 to get mine replaced). Once it has been replaced, it shouldnt brake as it has an extra weld. Also if the car doesnt start the 1st time, question it because it mite be that the ignition switch is going and once again VW will charge you around £350 for it to be replaced.
You see, iv had all this happen to my car, pedal box is a common fault, but not sure about the ignition switch. I dont no how many people have encountered this problem reg the ignition switch with their 6n2.
But apart from that, i think its a brilliant car, go for it if u get a good deal!
