how much is my car worth?

Post by PD »

been looking around on a few of the threads at some polos and on auto trader and been amazed at the price some of the mk5 polos go for.

so i just want to know what you guys would say my polo is worth.

its a
1.4 S 16v (6n2) Xreg full service history 44,000miles on the clock (40k when i got it)
Dragon green,
5 Door,
Standard Beta radio/cassette with 6 disk in the boot.

couple of little chips but nothing major - extreemly good condition inside and out - a lot of wear around the steering wheel ( which i am concerned about for its age )

I am not going to sell it ( I love it ) but how much do you reckon it would go for?
really interested to know, then i'll say how much i paid.

£4500 you must be joking right?? :? I've seen GTI's with the same mileage as you struggle to get over £3500 on eBay and Auto trader

still £3500 is quite a bit more than i paid for it in the first place - i have seen some S models with higher milage going for around or just under £3500 so seems quite reasonable to me. nice to know though because at least i should be able to sell it in a year or two for pretty much what i paid for it.

i'd say about 3-3500 for an S model 3500-4000 for an SE model and 4000+ for GTi and 16v models

thats why i asked if it was 75bhp or 100bhp......75bhp there is absolutely no way you'd get 4500, 3500 at the very most! 4000 at bvery most for 100bhp model as they are quite rare!

Good luck anyway! 8)

E models fetch in London anything from 2000-3000 but I have seen them go for under 2k on ebay.

you'd probably get a 9N 100bhp model for 4500!

still, sounds like you've got a bargain, what did you pay then?!

Id easily get 3500 for mine but thats partly cause of my extremely low mileage :D
