Adrian flux and they brokered Highway Insurance for me. Don't charge any extra for my cosmetic mods at all. Bonus.

I can't imagine the shock being much different on the GTI than the generic one on the other coilover setups.

Not sure on the price compared to KWs, I think variant 1's are about 550-600? Remember my FKs are an option too ;) I'll sell the things eventually when someone turns up with money! lol.

Coils over

Post by NDJ »

Eibach just got back to me. The kit they are developing will be totally different and specifically for the GTi, designed correctly for the weight of the 1.8T...hmmmm, now what to do, do I wait or do I go with the current kit.

can you find out the price? that's probably the deciding factor!

if you're going to get Eibach ones anyway, may as well wait. Otherwise I wouldn't wait specifically for these ones especially after hearing other people's comments on their coilovers.

can't help thinking this "specific GTI" setup is just a load of talk.

Those part numbers for the coilovers on that page are identical to the GTI and the rest of the range. Very odd. They've only separated them up because they run from different years it seems.

Blimey Kelvin, looked at your link and it looks like they are s**t me, grrr, what on earths going on, it says quite clearly there that there is a part number specifically. I think Ill email Eibach in Germany, see if i can get any sence out of them. Thanks Neil

Ive finally ordered them from Awesome. Thanks for all your kind advice guys....

Now tell me, where can I get new centre caps for my TT Comp alloys as mine are shot and new ones are £21+vat each, I would have liked the audi symbol but I aint paying that, anyone know what others fit.

God arent Audi garages full of snobs, they looked at me like I was s**t on their shoes when I said I was putting them on my polo, they all stood about and I heard some customer being given very lack lustre help, glad Im not into Audis, mind you it didnt help when I told the guy Audis are only trumped up VWs snigger!!

Most of the mkiv Golf centre caps will also fit, such as those used in Monty IIs and are only about six quid each. I *think* the part number for these are: 3B7 601 171 but that's from memory and scribbled notes from when I sold some on ebay a while back. I'll double check that those aren't the part no's for mk5 Golf caps as I have some in my garage (these are bigger and won't fit). Benefit of these is that you will have VW badges in your wheels and not Audi.....

Fantastic, thanks. I wonder if Porsche ones will fit hmmm, you often see them on ebay. The audi ones are nice as they are flat and silver.
