Clutch problem help!!

Post by h4r1s »

hi,

My biting point has suddenly changed from being quite a bit away from the floor to very close to the floor. I have asked at vw what it is most likely to be and they say it could be the pedal box bracket which holds the clutch cable. What would be the best way to check, i've got the car open and have had a look but cannot see anything unusual except that a bit of the rubber gromit around the clutch cable has slipped in a bit :? would i need to take the clutch pedal out to check properly? + i've only taken the bottom plastic trim out.

Thanks, Appreciate the Help greatly :!:

When that happened in mine, it was the clutch cable - it had worn so much it was a few more clutch downs away from completely snapping :|

same thing happened to mine, sounds like pedal box, i replaced the clutch, clutch pedal and had the pedal box re-welded, it still broke but vw replaced it for free under 'good will warenty).i would suggest a trip to a vw dealer to find out if they will do it for you!!
