Zymolling (or other waxing) in the cold -- can it be done???

Hello peeps,

Just finished washing my car for the first time in a few months* and I noticed that the water was "pooling" rather than "bobbling". From what I understand, this means it needs waxing - is this correct?

I've got some Zymol sitting here, but it says it needs to be 18C to apply it. Does anyone know of anything else that could be applied on the street, in the cold middle of winter?? It wouldn't have to last very long -- just long enough to get it through Jan and Feb, really.

* I did have it valeted around August, but I personally haven't washed it since about June... And some of the brake dust wouldn't come off the alloys

You're not meant to.

If you can get into a garage or somewhere with central heating you'll be ok.

I have Zymol'd my car in the cold before apart from being cold on the hands it's not that bad. Ok, it may not be as effective as doing it above 18c as Josh said but at least there is some sort of protective layer.

its hard work. i put a coat of auto glym extra glos protection on my ibiza and after doing 2 panels i wished i hadnt started.
