Hi,
I am looking to buy a Polo and was hoping I could get some advice from 'people in the know'; So what better place than this, the car I am after is as follows:
Polo 1.4CL
98 (R Plate)
85K on the clock
Mot till Early 2008
My main concern is the rust sport on the passenger door and rust on the panel below. The seller is wanting £900, is this worth it and what else should I look out for ?
Thanks in advance.
Help needed with Polo 1.4CL

i'd say £900 is a fairly decent price, make sure it has full or at least good service history and find out when its last service was done.
it should have had the cambelt changed already as its on 85k so check this!
the rust can quite easily be sorted by a good bodyshop, but get quotes first as some may be cheap for a reason.
also, as its a CL, it should have electric windows, so check to make sure these work fine and arent straining so to speak. if they do struggle to go up then the regulator/motor combo could be on its way out and these can (if done through vw) be expensive to fix!
also check for rust around the rear arches as this is a common place for it and also around the rear windows as my g/fs polo has rust here!
if you do decide to go for this car, get yourself a haynes manual as i have found this invaluable when tinkering with my g/fs car!
good luck, let us know how u get on!
