cold start difficult

Post by polokaj »

Hello ppl

I'm having problems starting the car when its cold, once it' heated up it starts easily but on cold when starting i need to keep my foot welded to the throttle and it takes 5-7 seconds to start.

I've got a feeling its the temp sender, it is a 1.4 16v 98, was wondering if someone could be kind enough to show me a pick of where the sensor is. And also after fitting the sensor does anything need to be done with the ecu

Thanks

Thanks steve but thats for the 8v and the engine setup on the 16v is quite different.

plus going on eurocar parts there seems to be quite a variation of the sensor you can get and im not sure which one to get

Changed it and now its working perfect, very easy fix and should not take longer than 5 mins.

For the 16V the temp sender should be a 4 pin connector and it has a yellow ring around it so you can identify it easily.
