Strange Noise

Post by Biddle »

Alright guys seriously need your help. No sound when idling, but when I accelerate there is a vibrating/rumbling throughout the car. I can feel the vibrations through the clutch and it feels as if the car is struggling. I dont think it is the clutch because I only had that done about 10,000 miles ago so unless im extremly unlucky  My dads friend took a look at it and he wasn't 100% but he said the dif sounded sloppy and he thought it may be the gearbox. But just to get a second opinion before I got box rebuilt I took it to another garage. They said they thought it could be the driveshaft but again they werent 100%. So is there anything which is a common problem which would cause such a problem?

Thats the thing though its been to too different garages and they both said theres definately something wrong but its not an obvious problem. I rang VW today and they said for a diagnostics test its £70 plus vat per hour so f**k that.

Well I got the problem sorted now. I took it too a place in Pontypool called New Inn Gearbox centre an after this Id highly reccomend them. They said it definately wasn't the gearbox as soon as they drove it he said it could possibly be the driveshaft but he wasn't 100%. So he ordered 2 new driveshafts stuck them in and this didnt solve the problem so he sent them back. Then they stripped down the car and they replaced the clutch and the flywheel and now the car is better than Ive ever known it to be
