now im not 100% sure but i can point you in the right direction the problem is the wiring loom for the car to the cd player (the one that usually comes with the cd player) you need to swap over two wires with one another its usually red and yellow. so at the moment it will be for example red all the way through and yellow all the way through. what to do is when you find out the two wires but for now we will use red and yellow cut them both in the middle ish and cross them over red to yellow and yellow to red
hope this is right as its what i had to do
also seen a "memory saver" on egay which is basically a battery connected to the cig lighter
thnaks mate so what ur sayin is to swap the red and yellow wires so they connect as red-yellow, red-yellow
are the pictures below showing the correct red and yellow wires?? just need to know before i start chopping wires!!

DONEEEEEEE.....WHOOO ...THANKS EVER SOO MUCH GUYS IT FINALLY WORKS I DUN HAVE TO KEEP RE-ENTERING ANYTHING ANYMORE... ...theres one more feature that i havent yet installed and thats the tel-mute..it says connect to the terminal that is "grounded" thats just the earth connection right??
yh i am having the same problem with my alpine headunit cos it keeps canceling the settings e.g bass, treble etc when i take the key out then i have to set it all again and also sometimes the cd jus doesnt work and keeps saying error even though i used that same cd in 3 different cd players n worked fine every time
i dont know about the cd try ejecting it and putting it back in if few times and see wat happens..but fo the seetting all you need to do is take the red and yellow wire thats attached with ur headunit and connect the wires so that they are red-yellow, red-yellow, this wwill sove the mmeory crisis on my kenwood one i didnt need to chop anything of all it was ...was a spade and bucket clcip fing idf u you know what i mean just unplug and conect as that layout red-yellow red-yellow hope that helps if any porb jst give a shout
