retarded mechanic failed my mot :(

Post by JoeG07 »

bloody mechanic at this garage failed my car because:
- one of the windsceen wipers wasnt sufficient, despite buying new blade the day b4 the test
- a sidelight was out
- becuase the central lockings broken he couldnt open the petrol flap to check the cap. it can easily be levered open with a screwdriver ive done it loads of times, and it even says how to do it in the car manual. what a t**t mechanic!

he was one of those twats that thinks im obviously a total mug coz im only 18. He said "the brakes arnt sufficient and are dangerously bad" "but i got new brakes put in at VW a couple of months ago?" "WELL WHAT DO I KNOW AYE?" dick.

Regardless of the other two points, the sidelight is a fail anyway.

And from reading that, it does read like you've used him before in reference to the brakes. But perhaps I just don't understand the point you were making there.

lol nah ive never used him before. I was just annoyed because i didnt understand why the brake pads need changing so quickly but he got all cocky about it. I'm not debating the failure i know it was a clear fail, its just the way he was so rude about it

I took this to be in the past tense... i.e you'd used him before.

best to use someone you'v used before or recommended. That way eventually they might allow some of the little niggly failures slide cos they know you'll fix it anyway.

My bros car failed due to the fact one of his tyres directional tread was facing the wrong way. But mine had gone to the same garage about a month previous and it passed but when his failed I checked mine and low and behold two of mine were on the wrong way round but yet he passed mine :? put it right when I noticed but it shows mechanics can be more picky somedays than others.
