POLO 54 Plate diesal blowing black smoke
i was driving my polo when suddenly black smoke started to bail out of the back and the vehicle started to judder and has been doing ever since.
when i drive now, the car still seems to bail smoke and on take-off it starts slow and suddenly kicks in with power. however smoke is always blowing out the back.
i feel it maybe something to do with injectors, however i tried injector cleaner and it didnt improve anything.
anyone with any ideas?

TOOK IT TO VW
I took the problem to VW who gave the vehicle back as working "fine"
it is far from fine so i took it back again, then they fitted a brake-switch, apparently slows the engine down.... now that hasnt helped at all either so they charged me for fitting a part that wasnt even broken..
now i dnt know what to do... this is a driving school vehicle and the longer its off the rd the longer im out of work..
fuckin vw monkeys dnt know sh!te!
someone else has suggested to me that its is "fuel diesel pump" can anyone verfy this before i have to go and spent another large sum of money due to the uneducated mechanics at VW!
Just out of Interest if anyone is wondering WHERE NOT to take their VW its the VW Garage Ventura park VW. Contact Details, 45-51 Kings Road Sutton Coldfield West Midlands

Thanks guys I've got it booked in at a special place that deals with Diesel Pumps... hoping they will sort it out on Wednesday..
as for VW Ventura park i tried to get hold of the manager (Clive Dean) and i was told he was too busy to speak to me. So i suggested i leave a message for him to call me back, and they refused saying he was also too busy to call me back. So I suggested i call VW head office UK, and asked for contact details - surprisingly they were very reluctant to give me these.. and suggested i write to 'Clive Dean' Manager at VW Garage Ventura park.. But im not prepared to write to a manager who is "TOO BUSY" to call me back!
Can anyone get me a contact address (for HQ UK) where i can lodge a formal complaint about conduct with customers and how they rip them off.
I feel very upset at the fact that the reason dealer prices are so high is because they are supposed to be headache free repairs because they are after all VW vehicles, yes - their own cars, but they cannot locate the problem because their computer fails to pick anything up on a diagnostic checks? whatever happened to real mechanics? I guess a back street garage is better then! because at least they have more experience and expertise in diagnosing problems. Locating a fault on standard VW 1.9 SDI Polo was the last thing i thought would have baffled the Mechanics at a VW garage.
Oh and please can someone tell me a bit more about the "air leak" because someone mentioned that to me too, bit they really didnt know much about it but they did suffer a similar issue.

i have fitted a few front mount intercoolers/ replaced standard intercoolers on new vag diesels and if any of the seals/joints in any of the pipework/ intercooler itself are not air tight you get lots of black smokeOh and please can someone tell me a bit more about the "air leak" because someone mentioned that to me too, bit they really didnt know much about it but they did suffer a similar issue.

anyhow, I completely agree - my passat used to blow a fair bit of smoke and one of the intercooler pipes was loose. although it was leaking oil around the pipes and just generally getting on a bit.

i would say somewthing on the fueling sideof things, as when you boot either a car with alot of power or in this case a diesel then it will kick out smoke this is caused by over fueling, but it is better to overfuel a car then underfuel one, my mates 500brake evo kicks out a hell of alot of smoke and i asked him why and he said its because of overfueling, and it is suppost to be like it! but i doubt it would be the same as yours so it sounds like a fueling problem to me.

it does it when you are about to take off, therefore naturally u would apply more gas and hope to get some more power, but the vehicle judders holds back, then BOOM a short burst of energy will push the car forward as if someone who lifted the clutch too early!Bepe wrote: does it do it all the time or when you put your foot down? and does it do it at idle?
