My New Beast

Post by Jeff GTi »

well after putting 11k miles on the polo in just 8 months i decided it was time to do something, and so being inspired by a friend on another forums cleaning threads and general goings on iv aquired myself a second car, a fiesta haha

and here it is
Image

its a 93 on an L covered 90'000 miles and is a 1.8 diesel beast

it needed a few bits doing but so far its only cost me £7.99 and im loving it

so far iv done

new wing mirrors and glasses
rear view mirror fixing kit
bit of bodywork
and the wheel trims are in the boot

and it needs some tyres but they are only £12 for part worns so its all good

so as of midnight when the insurance starts the polo will only be seeing light to have some light marks polished out at the bodyshop and then will live in the garage for a while with only little time out for shows and cleaning

im really excited about it as its nothing like my polo, it aint refined at all and is a complete cheap project, the aim is to keep cost low and to keep the polo absolutely spotless and make her in to a real wolf with the money ill be saving

so whats everyone think

opinions welcomed

I'm seriously un-impressed by your beasty fiesta but a bargain it was. However, please let me salute you on a fantastic looking Polo Gti.

Slick looking motor! 8)

yeh true. but still i paid 700 quid for that bucket of scrap!! it looked in mint mint mint mint nick when i got it...

Just touched 70,000 on the clock was a 1.1 petrol (duh) and unbeknown to me the oil pump went and i put a piston throgh the top. Oh well. Flimpsy sack of roooooobish. Put the next engine in. a 1.3. That engine came from a scrappy and quite literally left a smokescreen behind me when ti first pulled away. seriously this thing was like a ninja when ti escaped... except without the speed and finesse... and mroe smoke...

That died so i got a 205.

That car was the b*******s... ah memories...... sweet sweet meories... (of rbeaking down)

Sorry im boycoting the thread with reminisence. Apologies *bows*

It's good to keep an old runabout if you're in a position to do so.
I keep my ancient Polo as it's a great size for whizzing through city traffic, I don't care where I park it and more importantly who parks next to me. And if any damage occurs to it it's not the end of the world unlike when it happens to your 'pride and joy' motor.
Another benefit is when you get back in the GTI after driving a shed for a few days it brings back the excitement of the thing, where as when you drive a 'decent' car every day you soon take it for granted.

Your money, your choice!
I know I'd rather have a heap and spend my money on something else.
