Help buying a polo

mines up for sale Â£1300 but Â£1250 for any1 on this forum

bstardchild's 6N looks far better condition than the other white one!! My 1st car was a 6N R reg 1.4 CL with full VW service history, done 76k when I bought it which only costs me GBP 1600. I only kept it for a year(2005) then I bought a 16v in the following year. You can have some idea, Lewin;

I'm just wondering, does a black polo look good once modified?

I can't say I've seen many black ones on here.

My old polo 1.4 CL 96 plate was only worth Â£1250 in mint condition and 86k on the clock, which I got back after it was written off. Spent a 1500 on top with mods but that won't increase the value. The car your looking at looked rough n had cheap mods on it anyway.

White cars followed by red cars are cheaper in value then the same car in another colour. Personally i'd reluctantly pay Â£900

i paid Â£2500 for this 16v at 79k with VWFSH, which had fresh paintwork n no marks. Still too much but it's worth it personally for me. Theres no rush in looking for the right car

Very nice and I loooove the sunroof on it. Everything works ok apart from the boot doesnt unlock with the rest of the central locking.

If I was to buy it (hoping to get it for GBP 1600) these are the mods I'm looking to do.

De-badged front grille, new alloys, exhaust, sound system and change the tinted windows if poss.

It has a slight green tint on the windows, is it possiable to change to black? Or can i get it darkened? OOOr do i have to get new windows?

What else should I do to it? I'm not going to bother with lowering it because of insurance.

Lewin, are you sure that you really buy an open air polo? Once the roof cant shut itself, it would be a nightmare!! Expensive to repair and Insurance may costs you more as well, cos its a soft roof. Be aware. At the end of the day, its your choice. Just letting you know to be aware..... Good luck!

It's the best polo I've seen, yet.

Hopefully I won't get any problems with it, but It's bound to go wrong at some point. It's just one of those things! If I were to get consistant problems with it then I would just sell it on....

First mod I want to do is change the lights, so can anyone recommend some?

Looking for:
Angel headligts?
Clear indicators,
Clear repeaters,
and what rear lights are best for a black polo?

Also want a de-badged front grille, where can I get one of those?

Get clear indicators and repeaters and a set of mk5 rears, should suit the car really well. I'm not a fan of angel eyes or chrome this & that, i think they look tacky all too often.

heres an updated pic of my modded black un. needs some bbs alloys, and the dehandling is photoshop altho i do plan to get it done. oh and i still need a damn splitter!
