Ticking Noise From Engine

Hi,
When i start the engine, i hear a ticking noise, if i rev it the ticking noise increases.

Any idea on what this could be?
Is it serious?

I just started it up a minute ago and the ticking noise wasn't there :s

its called tappets mate. check your oil. if there isnt enough get it topped up.

Also check the consistency of your oil, might need a change. all cars should tap a bit for about 30 seconds on start up then quieten down as the oil flows round and lubes everything up.

Worst case scenarios is your tappets need adjusting. if its really bad then get it fixed cos it will cause unnessesary engine wear.
