First Car (VW Polo 1.3 Cl Coupe)

Post by beemer »

'lo (i'm Beemers son), as I said, this is my first car, learning to drive in it. Once i've passed shall hopefully have enough money to do some bits nd bobs to it (my dads doing some odd jobs on it atm)... So for the moment it's mainly all of the cheap mods  Anyways. At the moment, it's got some new wheels, couple of cheap speakers in the front nd back, A new Sony radio, getting a GT Steering wheel, got some GT Clocks in it with some new red lights, GT interior (i think?) And probably some other stuff that I can't remember/don't know that my dads done... Anyways hope ya enjoy it... (I had just cleaned it the day I took these btw, it's not always that clean and only has a little bit of rust around the passenger side doorhandle)

Heh, cheers will do, wasn't sure if they were the GT ones or the G40 ones, thanks for clearing that up :D

Have a few plans for 'er, just need to pass and get some money at some point, may lower it, perhaps get some new rims, and perhaps take off that dodgery side skirt thing, clear indicators. Any suggestions anyone? Cheers for the comment :D

Looking good, especially the G40 seats. I quite like it. Good idea for moving away those funny looking front spoiler!

Taken just after i'd fitted the wheels, think they look quite nice, what'd you all think?
Had a bit of a fuss trying to get em on, took way longer than it should've done, and they're a bit muddy, so look very brown... anywho, like or not? Shall hopefully be having some lowerage on the way at some point in the future as well as a new zorst and maybe an induction kit...

Oh and have got the GT/G40 steering wheel in, shall have my poloace (i think it is) chip soon. Progressing faster than i thought i would be...

So, like the new wheels or not?

i like the alloys.......but the profile on those tyres to me looks well off! you will not be able to lower it very far with them on at all!
with too big a profile tyre, it increases the overall rolling radius of the wheel which in turns makes your speedo incorrect and also slows the car down.

Yeah I quite like those wheels too, but as Dan says those tyres look far too big! Even look like you'd get scrubbage with some weight in the back.

New Pics

Post by beemer »

Lo all, sorry for the crap quality pics, only had my camera phone with me. Anywho, have done a few things with it since the last pics I took of it; I've got some new, lower, profile tyres, new aerial, GT/G40 steering wheel, finally found the rear 1/4 bump/rub strips, blackened all of the plastic (addmittedly half assed though) urmm plan to get it subtly lowered at some point in the future. Clean it up and what not, improve my sound system, clear indicators, induction kit, new subtle back box and just generally tidy it up. Also really need to clean it, has sat for a week under a tree on a dusty drive and is covered in dust and leaves etc. Anyways, shall get some better pics up hopefully this week. Otherwise, what'd you all think? What d'you rekon could be done? Bear in mind i'm skint, so the cheaper the better. :D Thanks all!

Heh, you have no idea how badly i want to slam it, just don't have the money atm :( Need a job but i'm just too lazy  And nah the insurance ain't too bad, seemed to get lucky with it tbh. Tried two quotes with Endsleigh, with all the same details on two different days and there was quite a big difference... :D Anywho cheers matey
