Rear Door Cards Update [With Pics]

Post by polo_dude »

I'm Having a problem with removing the rear Door cards on a 5 door.I've got to the point of taking out the door pin, and the screws out of the grab handle, and also unlocking the door cards from it's pins underneath. However the window winder gets in the way from releasing the door card itself.i've used the search button but it only has info on 3 doors :( .

yeah u have to get the window winder off. If memory serves correct you just put a flat head screwdriver under the plastic ring that the winder sits on and slide it down then the winder should just pull off. Your door card will then just pull off as well

noooooooooooooooooo thats nto how it comes off. You wil break it doing that.

It works on a sliding lock mechanism.

If you look at the handle its in a few parts. you have the 'arm' and then what looks like the base. this is in fact a clip. Basically this pulls out but does nto detach from the arm. Its an odd little mechanism.

Basically grip the base and pull away from the center. if ti doesnt work in one direction try again in another. It only goes one way but i dotn think you can really tell which way to pull it. Its just trial an error. Once youve done ti once its a piece of p***. Ive done ti many many times.

right whichever way the actual handle is facing, slide the plastic ring using two fingers the opposite way.
easist done in the fully closed position handle should point forwards slide the ring backwards itll just pop off.

If you could give us some tips on where to go from here though id be greatful.

whole back end of plastic panels in my 3 doors are now back front doors are holding me up :P

4. iF this guide is used for the front door cards give a good old tug on the door cards and it'll pull open

The guide will now continue for 5 door polos [Removing Rear Door Cards]

5. Remove the Ring/Base on the window winder now This is where i'm having a problem.I've moved the ring/base, but i cant remove it. I think i'm goingg wrong somehwere.I have a feeling the white pastic in the picture below is somehow ment to come out with it

When I had a 6n I used to push the ring the other way, away from the winder handle.

The ring should slide parallel to the handle, it's sort of gone underneath there. Maybe the white bit is supposed to go with the ring?

yeh the white bits supposed to come out aswell. youve defo got it going the wrong way there. though i dont see how the white bit couldve become detached from the black... its the white bit that acts as a clip to hold the winder on.

Perhaps that ones knackered. have you tried any of the other doors? they all detach the same.
