bloody central locking...AGAIN!

Post by JoeG07 »

i am getting throughly fed up with my central locking. I had two pumps blow because of water but finally got my new pump and sealed everything off so its dry, thinking a new pump would sort the problem. Putting in the new pump caused my system to be temperamental , only working when it felt like it. Then one day it just fixed itself and worked perfectly evyer time. Now its stopped working again! Just randomly! It will lock every single time either will the key or remote, but never unlock. Any suggestions? You cant hear it wurring to unlock either, just nothing.

Sounds like a leak in the air line somewhere. I had this exact problem, pump wurring away and only sometimes locking/unlocking the doors. Traced the leak to the rod that locks/unlocks the petrol cap. You can remove the acctuator by opening the boot and undoing the two bolts that hold it in place just above the pump. Mine was leaking around the rubber boot on the actuator and was fixed with a sandwich bag and parcel tape :D
