to be fair dude i am thick, been connecting it to the wrong wires. been connecting it to the big thick bunch of wire just below the fuse block not the ones below the door.... probs f****d my unit up now..... will give it another bash tomorrow..........

What you will need to do is get a copy of your key cut onto the blank which is provided,


3) windows rollup - To get the windows rollup feature to work you need to convert negative green wire from the remote central locking into positive using a relay then you use this wire to lock the doors instead of the white one which is mentioned above. Updated For the windows to work you need to get an SPDT relay and wire it up between the green wire from the control unit and the lock wire on the car yellow/white like this (first diagram on the page converting from negative to positive) The green wire from the control unit = negative trigger and yellow/white on the car needs to be connected to the 12v + output http://www.the12volt.com/relays/page1.asp

right could you just clarify what i'd need to do to get the roll up feature to work??

and how much does it cost to get a key cut and where do you get it done??

and how does the system work in general is it a good piece of kit???

and is it really as easy as it looks??

You have no idea of how much I've looked for a DIY of this. Just a question: is it possible to follow this guide with a 2003 9N Polo? I guess the electronics aren't that much different, but better to ask first and do it later than do shyte and ask later

@stani540 Basically the kit comes with a 20 second output, which is used to activate the windows rollup. But it is a negative output so you just need to convert it to positive to make it work with our cars. All you need is to wire up a relay in between. Quite simple to do, will be here to help if you get stuck.

Key cutting costs about £10, from key cutting shops don't know where else would do it, i just asked my dad for places that would cut keys.

It is pretty simple to do if you know what you are doing, my mate done it for me in about 1-2hrs, but he had already fitted it to his car so he knew what he was doing

@Tony_ well i don't know, but i'm assuming that the wires might be a drifferent colour and might be just a bit different from the guide. I think you will have to have a look at the guide he provides you with and the back of the haynes manual where all the wiring diagrams are.

2 tips:

1, make sure your connecting to the wires that go along the side of the car not the ones by the fuses!!!
2, dont use the clips given the poo, better off using a soldering iron!

how did you guys get your immobiliser chip in the fob cant get the chip near enuff the front for the car to pick it up.... once i take i back off the new fob can i split in in half? looks like its going to snap....

can this guide be applied to a 6n too? it is the electric system the same or it is too different??
