ENGINE LEAK

Post by Petrol_Head »

Can anyone help... Iv replaced the camshaft gaskett, and stopped the leak from the top of my engine, but it seems i still have a leak from lower down at the mid point of the engine.

Can anyone spread any light on how much work is envolved on solving the leak?

sounds like the head gasket, they are pretty easy to replace on the 8v engines, from what i remember all you have to do is remove inlet and exhaust manifold, rocker cover to get to the head bolts (replace the head bolts while your at it), the timing belt and the water pump. best to get someone who knows what there doing to give you a hand as the headbolts need torqueing down in a set pattern and you dont want to mess up the timing. im lucky as my dad's a mechanic and he always gives me a hand
