Steering problem :(

Hi guys, Was driving my mk4 1.4cl and as I went to turn a corner my steeri gn went very heavy and a loud whining noise appeared. Got to the garage and put in power steering fluid and steering went light again although the noise is still there loud as ever has anyone got any ideas what it could be? Thanks in Advance.Cheers
