Can anyone help with 9N?

Post by Scorpio1 »

Okay I'm in a bit of bother!

I have had kind offers from a couple of people that said they would come round and help, but rather than take up too much of their time, can anyone tell me how they ran the power wire through to the engine bay?

I have tried removing the air box, nothing. It looks like I could go behind the ECU cover, haven't a clue how it comes off. :? Everything is metal with no spare holes! I'm scared to drill incase I drill through wires.

Has anybody that has fitted a system to a 9N able to offer any advise?

Thanks!

theres usually a gromet you can use either near the brake master cylinder or on the opposite side in the same place

Hihi,

I was trying to look for the gromet for aaaaages and eventually found that Moles information was spot on:

http://www.tigerstyle.co.uk/poloforum/v ... php?t=2748

I admit that I went for the actual paid technician route, this way if anything went wrong with the car or the kit I bought as a result of it being fitted wrongly I would be able to claim the repairs or new equipment back off of the people who fit it :P

I got my amp from Halfords for this reason and the installation cost (Running of all the wires along the car and power form the engine bay etc) only cost £30.00

Moles pictures on the link are down at the moment, but if you are at the meet tomorrow, look me up and I'll show you how they did mine!

Sounds interesting! I will have to give it a go if it doesn't snow like they say it will!

Hey Scorpio!
How you doing matey??

You could have always asked me, I would have showed you where to drill exactly, because its done on my car.

Now the gromet itself is not big enough for the power lead to pass through. What I did was drilled near the gromet and passed it through there.

Tell me if you need further help mate! :)

You could do a really decent sound install on the 9n POLO! My wires are all hidden! 8)
