i recieved a letter the other day involving whats happening about my car. now i have spoken to my dad and he thinks it means its wrote off and so do i.
what are your views on the letter (what was on the letter is below):
Dear Mr Nikolas Braddock
RE: Road Traffic Accident 01/01/04- J668GNH
We are engineers and assessors acting on behalf of Centrus Ltd
Further to our inspection of your vehicle, we would appreciate it if you could contact our office on --------------- as a matter of urgency so that pre-accident values can be agreed.
that is exactly how i recieved the information. so what do we think ppl, is project euro 1 written off or not?
pls help!
I'm sorry to say but it sounds like you are correct in assuming that it is a write-off. When they talk about 'pre-accident values' I guess that are wanting to know the value of the car plus your mods so that they can tell the insurers how much to pay you for your car.
What I think you need to do is have a look at the insurance policy and how much you have had it insured for...then look at how much money you have spent on it and also some car mags to see how much cars of a similar spec and age are going for, naturally the insurers want to pay you less and sometimes not even the insured price but because you are going through a middleman and they will report to the insurers you have a chance to try and make a case for yourself to get back as much money as you can.
Sorry, but good luck.

yeh thought so. oh well.
well it was an agreed value of 2k when i took the policy out, but insured for 2.3k before accident as i've done more since. i was told about finding other gt's for sale with similar sale tags so that i do get the price i want. and the ones i have found which are vertually the same are going for between £2200 and £2500 so i hope i get the 2k i want for it. plus i get to keep the car.
if it is wrote off which it looks like it i'm buying keith's gt and making the best of both.
