To buy or not to buy ??

Post by middo »

Hi all, *first post on this forum since changin  *

Firstly, im currently driving a Punto 1.2 16V sporting, in hairdresser yellow 8)

I'm looking for a Polo as i think they should be somewhat better screwed together than the Punto.
However ... due to me pxing i can only afford a car in the region of £2800 - £3000. I've been looking at an N reg 1.4L from a garage. 1995 with 44,000 on the clock and it all seems in order. Just wondering if this is any good, as alot of the other polo's ive seen have about 70,000 on the clock. Also, what type of polo could i get for 3000.

Any help appreciated 8) :D

The Mk4 1.4 CL is a nicer car than the L... More toys like electrics etc.

I wouldn't go for an L if you're used to the sporting.

How about this one?

1996 VOLKSWAGEN Polo 1.6i GLX, 1996,
5dr, 75k, 2 lady owners, FVWSH, twin airbags, PAS, sunroof, EW, EM, alloys, front-fogs, CL, alarm, sports trim, tax & test, immaculate. £2,650 . ono.

Tel: ***********

Distance: ** miles
Price: £2,650 ono.

Just check on www.autotrader.co.uk

There are loads of polos between 2 and 3k

Go for the biggest engine/spec you can find.

The 60bhp 1.4 8v Polo will feel quicker than your 80ish bhp Punto due to the increase in torque.

The build quality is better too.

If you go for the newest one you can afford, you'll get better spec too.

Good luck and welcome to the forum!

Haysey's Polo CL is for sale and its at a great price!

It's a 97R with 39k on it, and it's only £2995.
