Mk1 Caliper Conversion
Hi! heard u can convert Mk1 Polo front brakes with Mk1 golf calipers.(is this just to convert to vented discs rather than solid?)
...is this a worthwhile mod,....what else can i do to improve braking?

yep you can
u can use mk1 gti brakes
but u need to use the carrys from a rocco or golf these have VWII stamped on them
but to be honest its a pointless conversion the vented discs cool better stopping u from getting brake fade the vented discs are still the same size as the solid discs and also the pads are the same size so it wouldent stop u better as the friction area is still the same
one way i have been looking at is using golf mk1 front suspension which then will allow you to use mk2 gti big brakes only downside is u will need 15" wheels and upwords becouse the mk2 brakes fill a 15" wheel and give u a 5mm gap between the disc and the inside of the wheel still working out if this mod will work
