Post by da_ansa »

hello every1 im just about to purchase my first polo getting abit excited it is an 1.0 e i was wandering what engines can be put into it and at what price.
i was thinking of the 1.6 gti engine but would prefer a turbocharged engine if poss.

Any advice is great. thanx

If you want a 1.6 sell your 1.0 and buy a GTi. If you want a turbo polo buy a Mk7 gti :D

Simple as that - never build something you can buy. But.. if you like spending money I know people have put G40, PD150, VR6 and 1.8t engines into the 6n / 6n2 Polo

Buying a mk7 gti and tuning it has to be the best choice

i'm afraid his right in every way. No point wasting time/£££ on something that exists anyway +U won't get any back the extra £££ U spent modifying when selling cos 1.6 and GTi's already exist.

If you want to spend extra £££ then do something thats worth the work like the 1.8ts etc.

yep i'd have to agree, the amount of work required to fit say a 1.8t into a mk5, would basically cost as much as (or more) buying the car in the first place!
best bet is to buy something good already and try and make subtle improvements!
