Morrete headlights.

Post by Petrol_Head »

I have had these for ten months... but only got round to putting them on last week... Main reason was i had to spray the grill... and that meant sanding it down, then priming it again etc. But yeah.. any comments welcome.. i dont think it will be too everyones liking... but i like it.

They looked great when they 1st came out but only reason people wouldn't like them now is cos theres so much more on offer with Angels, Crystals etc and Morretes have been about for so long.

Anyway, if your planning on keeping them then atleast paint them same colour as the car, would look much better than 2 blocks of black contrasting with the cars colour. Just a tip

Thats another thing, they can look pretty hidious with the standard indicators ruining the look. Paint the Grille along with the lights then it'll look much better. If want to make your car look alot better then just get crystal lights if don't want to fork out on angels cos I know your on a budget! (student life; memories :P )

What do you think then if i get a bonnet bra as well.. to help soften the apperance?

And also.. what about if i get red indicators instead of the clear ones? Cos the welding option might be a bit to expensive for me at the mo.

Thats right, theres a limit to making them apealing and unfortunately the limits pretty near :( The suggestions are only for if your stuck with them. The bra won't softer anyting either, sorry mate.

AWW.. i dunno?

Im happy wiv the look, i think you have some relevant points, but i dont have the money at the moment. Also.. i have been looking at the golf mk4 recently... they have got cheaper, so in under 6 months time.. i will have 3 years no claims, plus will be over 21... so am weighing up how mch do i want to spend and how much i need to save up for the golf????

Maybe.. i will try and colour code the lights. and maybe with red clear indicators it will look better?

heres another picture..

LOL

thats harsh man.

i personally dont think the red indicators would help much. maybe a little who knows. try it and find out lool.

why the hell would you want a mk4 golf over a polo? utter madness. of all the golfs they are by far the worst in terms of build quality and reliability. not that theyre not still pretty solid on the inside. Its just all the wiring looms are meant to be s**t, so says my mechanic anyway, and hes a golf nut.

True, I think the Polo of this age is far better looking and solid then the Golf which is why I went for it in the first place. The Golf ain't aged pretty well either although the Polo has and is just starting to look old.

Try the red indicators but thats just another brash mod like the morrets. Nevertheless try the indicators with the grill, morret sprayed too and then the whole front will look much better.

BOYYY...

Some hatters around here!! LOL.

Nah, i see what you mean. I was just being lazy trying to get away with not spraying the headlights. I thought i might be able to get away with it!!! LOL... f.. hell... you guys not having none of it!!!

Ok.. enuf said by you lot.

I will do more changes, but screw getting angels, their nice and everything. But i dont have the money. Plus i want the rally look morrete's have. sorta old skol look to. I would rather pay to get wider wheel arches and a different front bumper then to worry about having some expensive front lights! But its all personal so... let it be!

another option (don't flame me) is to spray the grill surround black, and get black indicators (or tint them)

then it'd be a consistent black on the front rather than a mismatch.

christ why didnt i think of that... if you were to tint the indicators black then it would merge them into the morrets more giving it a better look. Meaning you wouldnt have to spray the morrets.

I wasnt hating just offering my opinion, which was full of hate. Still its err... meant to be fair an impartial advice lol....
