Rear LEDs

Post by NOZ »

I'v had a set of these for over a year now and they look gorgeous lit up, you'll need 8) .

Anyway the brake (top) bulbs are starting to go so I just wanted to know if theres replacement bulbs I can get for this, which i may not as i'v heard on some you can't.

Also want your opinions on putting my old tinted lights back on or whether I should put mk5 rears on? Guessing they're a straight swap right? Don't know whether they'll look good on a dragon green polo though. Pics would be welcome.

A few years ago those lights were taken off the market. The design had to be changed to stop you swapping the LEDs for different colours in them

Guess that means I can't change the bulbs cos 4 have already gone from the top row I think. I'm still debating keeping them cos they look fabulous at night so i'l let you know kipper

Might tint these too so you can't see the horrible chrome in daylight.

Standard mk5 lights don't really go well with green i've noticed, so your best off getting some tinted ones, i would personally get standard tinted or some hella leds

hope that helps

cheers guys,

if il get em tinted I might aswell keep the original 16v ones. On other colour Polo's the red mk5s could look great but I weren't sure about them on green polos. Noticed your tinted lights haris and they look great.

Still want a pic of the mk5 red lights on a green polo before I make my mind.

If the bulbs on the black LEDs can be changed then i'll just get em tinted.

I must say:

MK5 rears looks good on any colour! I still have a pair in my dad's garage waiting for some bulbholders so i can get them on the car (right after I do the brakes!)

Cheers that helps alot cos my car looks exactly like that, part from the Ronals.

i wanted that dark look to go with the type of style i'm going for ie- black alloys, tints etc. I'll see if I can get the bulbs for the LEDs and tint them, if not then i'll get the mk5s and tint them slightly.

They do stand out though, which wasn't the look I wanted but still looks sweet. Guess they're a straight fit right?
