will skoda felicia 1.9 diesel box fit s reg polo 1.9 diesel

hi guys an gals

need some advice please,

i recently purchased a 1998 s reg 1.9 diesel code polo (AEF engine) with a blown gear box.
i cant find a replacement box anywere, and a recon unit is over £450

a skoda felicia of the same year is fitted with the same engine, and was wondering if someone can tell me if the box from this car would fit my polo.

any help or advise would be much appreciated.

Ok they are the same engines like the petrols are but if its anything like the AEE/AEX Petrols it is all the same inside the box but they have different mounting locations. Im not 100% on this but i know for a fact the 1.4L AEX Box out of the skoda is diffrent to the 1.4L out of mk3 golf AEX IIRC the mk3 golf box is the same (with the edition of a front mount by the stater motor.

many thanks for your reply to my question about the polo and skoda gear boxes,

just wanted to know if you think it is possible to use the skoda felicia 1.9 diesel box internals, and fit them into my polo 1.9 diesel box,
