Immobiliser Question

Post by rachelw »

hi, i have a 1.4cl VW Polo 1995 5 door hatchback which i've had for a small while now- second hand. Just while filling out car insurance i was trying to work out whether there is a factory fitted immobiliser on this car.
Can anyone help me? thanks!

firstly, welcome to the forum!

the main reason no one has replied is your car is a mk4 instead of a mk3. easy mistake, so i'll move the topic to the mk4 section and hopefully you'll have a bit more luck!

In answer to your question, I belive it will have. Mine is a 1998 (S reg) 1.4 L (Poverty spec) and mine has a factory immobiliser. Your keys will have a transponder in it, hence why you need to reprogram the keys if you get a new set.
