Additional front splitter to mate up to stand front bumper.

Post by Gobert23 »

Hi,

I've got the standard (non-colour matched) black plastic front bumpers on my MkIII Coupe and I'm looking to fit a front splitter to the lower edge.

can anyone tell me what VAG part(s) would be up to the job? I'm not after anything that's going to drag along the deck, just somethi a little bit extra.

Is there anything that will bolt straight on? Golf MkI/II GTi etc?

Oh, and if anyone has one that they want to part with let me know. Might even arrange a swap for a set of GT/G40 arches and sides that I'm not going to be using.

Cheers

Yeah, I bought a set of arches and side skirts, with the intention of fiting them to my 1.3CL...

I've just fitted my 6x13" BBS rims (in a very tasty shade of anthracite)... and I've decided that I'm not that fussed about the arches now. I'd rather get a nice pair of DTM mirrors (those little 'Cup' style things). A set of mirrors and a front splitter should just about finish the aesthetics (famous last words, eh?)

I'd love to get a half cage fitted as well, but I don't think the insurance company would approve.

Well, if you've got a set of cup mirrors, we could do a swap? Oh, I found the two boxes (each side) of new fittings as well.

How much are mirrors anyways?

I'm getting to that point where I don't really want to do much more to the car. Keeping it clean and well serviced is now the priority (travelling more miles these days).

unfortunatly i haven't got any cup mirrors! i am sure you can get them from most places such as r&a design, awsome GTI, venom motorsport and i no that halfords do some as well, you buy the fitting kit seperatly!

hope that is helpful! i would be interested in purchasing the arches and skirts from ya depending on the condition of them etc.

No worries.

The arches themselves are perfect, no scruffs or scratches. So all four sections are perfect. One side section is fine as well, however, one has a small crack (about an inch).

Drop me a P-Mail and we can sort something out.

the easiest way to attatch the splitters off a mk2 golf is to use a rivet gun, then you don't have the trouble of having to take the bumper off. i havent put them on my mk3 yet but im going to a breakers on the weeknd to get em, and a rivet gun is only a tenner!
