On a serious note, it'd be nice if everyone could write in english on the boards... Just think of our members from overseas... They make the effort to post in english and read our posts, the least we can do is try to write in english ourselves!

I agree that it's time for a reminder, since there are a lot more young'un's on the board nowadays.
I find normal, legible text, like this:
"The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog"
Is much easier to read, over crap like this:
"da quick brown fox jumpz ova da lazy dog"
Google toolbar and most big web browsers have spell checkers nowadays. There is no need to type quickly as in a text message, take your time to make your message understood by everyone!
Most of the foreigners on here are more concise than some of our more speedy primarily English speaking repliers.
dont be hatin y0!!!111!!!!! LULZ!!!11

ITS NOT ONLY TEXT SPEAK WHICH ANNOYS ME I HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE ALWAYS USE CAPITAL LETTERS OR NEVER USE PUNCTUATION I HAVE SEEN A FEW POSTS ON HERE FAIRLY RECENTLY THAT HAVE JUST BEEN LIKE THIS ONE BIG LONG SENTANCE WITH NO COMMAS OR FULL STOPS ANYWHERE AND IT SOMETIMES TAKES LONGER TO READ THAN THE DREADED TEXT SPEAK THERE IS NO NEED FOR TEXT SPEAK THE ONLY REASON ITS USED ON TEXT MESSAGES IS BECAUSE YOU HAVE A CHARACTER LIMIT THERE IS NO LIMIT ON THE FORUMS

Or When People Type Like This It Is Really Annoying I Bet Their Shift Bar Gets A Good Workout
You Are Trying Too Hard If You Type Like This.
Also, I really dislike the acronym "tbh". Here's an acronym for you; FOYC (try and guess that one, haha) I don't mean that, obviously. It just irks me a bit. Just write "to be honest", please.
Aaaand breathe

I'm glad this has been brought back up to the top again. The standard of written "English" on this forum seems to have dropped quite dramatically lately.
As Ollie has said above, it's not like texting where you need to reply in 3.7 seconds. And I don't think anyone is expecting everyone to be able to spell, punctuate and use correct grammar 100% of the time, I just wish I could understand half of what was typed!
On a side note, why are you looking at 13 year old girls on Myspace Mouse?

What also annoys me is 13 year old girls on Myspace/Bebo etc that have that stupid font you can't read, and sometimes with sparkly letters. Gay!
