air con

Hi!

Ive just replaced my 99 1.4cl with a 02 1.9 tdi sport which is ace except the air con is faulty - it gets the temp correct & makes all the right noises except hardly any air comes out - even on the highest setting. Has anyone else had this problem and is is costly to sort out? Im not really enjoying trying to see through constantly misted up windows!

does it change the air speed when setting it on 1-2 or 3?

It could be a fuse blown for the fans?

could be as simple as the pipes not being connected properly behind the vents?

I hope it is - ive heard horrible tales of having to take the dash apart and being charged loads!!

It does sort of change the air speed in that something (practially nothing though) seems to come out when u have it on 4 & its significantly worse on 1!

You could have some big leaves stuck in the ducting.
The simple things are normally where the answers lie.

Or the pollen filter could be totally clogged up
