Boot Popper

Post by iggy350 »

Hey guys

I just been wondering if its possible to put an interior boot popper in the my Polo. Similar to my Bonnet popper, or maybe be even electric? Also if you can do it, is it difficult and where could I get such a part?

Thanks
and Soz for being a pain :)

you can get electrical solenoids off ebay for next to nowt,,,ive removed my rear wiper and used the wiring to that to operate the solenoid.

i assume u mean u wanna put a boot popper in your boot and get rid of the handle?

if so piece of tinkle, i got one, did the wiring myself and once i made sure all the wiring worked i didnt get rid of the handle for a couple of days to make sure it doesnt fudge up. just as well cause the cable as coming loose but it still worked but i got that sorted then got rid of the handle....

u can get them of ebay for about £20 or so with all the wiring.

what did u wire urs 2 Kipper? i dont really wanna get rid of my rear wiper tbh I basically just wanna mount a button up front and press it when i want my boot to open.

Thanks

interesting idea. then you could have the boot totaly flap with no, hole weer the umber plate is, and no hole where the VW sign is. and no manual handle... hmmm interesting. ill look into this as i was going to smooth mine off with the handle left in.

how hard was it to wire your boot poper up to the rear windscreen wiper?? and for the price of lyk £20 im defo going to do it lol. makes a big difference i think.

my polo doesnt have central locking and i used the wiring that came with the kit. it has a dodgy instruction printed on the inside of the box unless your one has a better instruction then mine.

after it was all wired up i had it attached to the mechanism of the boot handle but found it didnt work properly unless u can make the cable stay in one place on the arm for the linkage. the best result i got was to remove the old mechanism totally after making sure it works properly and attching it straight to the little arm attached to the latch.
