GTI Badge removal

Hi,

Just got my gti grille that i ordered from VAGparts today. Any advice on how to remove the gti badge? as unfortunatly i dont have a gti :(
gonna paint the red bit black too

got my german number plates aswell, i'll put up pics when i've got the grille on too if you like.

My missus is lovin that colour, whats it called. Can see a trip to the nearest dealer comin up.

Thanks, its Cornflower blue, metallic. The colour looks really vivid in those photos i think.

Colour code the bumpers and it will look even better! What size of alloys ya got?

Aye, was thinkin getting the bumpers colour coded, gonna get it lowered first tho, it needs it badly. There 17's.

Hiya,
Nice car! I got a gti grille on mine too. The only problem with the badge is getting rid of the plastic mounts behind. I got a scalpel and managed to carve most of it out, then heated the scalpel to smooth off the edges.
There is still one small tricky cross-piece as you'll see from the photo but i'll be tackling that another day!

Yeah looking good, Im gonna get round to that sometime soon.
How long did it take you?
You should paint the red stripe black and stick it back on, thats what I done, I just spray painted it.

Yeah, got the strip off at the moment. Just gotta get the black paint...thinking of doing the VW badge black too and i've got the badge from the original grille to experiment with!
I guess it took no more than an hour - purely depends how sharp your scalpel is, if you have a steady hand and patience!
I got a drill-bit to drill out the middle then worked out with a very sharp scalpel.

And just for the record and comedy value if you want to order paint for your car its known to the dealers and the rest of the world as "Tossa Blue"
