Tyre Scrub.

I have got some major wear on the inside edges of my front tyres. Initial thoughts were that the tracking was well out so I had this corrected at the local vw garage. A nice new set of tyres and four thousand miles later the inside edges are barely legal - again, and its pulling to the left heavily.

I have now replaced the front wishbone rear bushes and the anti-roll bar and bushes (the roll bar had started to move laterally as the plastic locators had rusted off!) there are also some new tyres on the way.

Does the 9n have adjustable:
Camber?
Scrub Radius?
Steering Inclination Angle?

My concerns now are that something is bent - that shouldn't be... any suggestions would be most helpful, especially if this has been experienced by anyone else!!

its the rear wishbone bush which is the problem.
i had the same problems as you until i fitted powerflex inserts and my tyres now wear more even but still scrub off on the inside (tyres still dont last long tho )
i have had the alignment checked by 2 different places and all is fine,

you can also fit seat ibiza cupra r rear bushes which will also help

I'd also recommend getting it double checked. they could have always done it wrong.... best to do that before the things that cost the money.

I take it that you got a four wheel alignment check/adjust carried out on the car after getting the TCA rear bushes replaced, if not just get Seat Ibiza Cupra TCA rear bushes fitted and if this gets done in a proper VAG indep garage they will include a four wheel alignment. Remember the front subrame needs to be dropped and this is not pinned to the chassis so it needs to be aligned correctly, also the camber is adjustable by using the three lower swivel(s) securing bolts. The big deal about using the Seat Ibiza Cupra bushes is that they are solid so should last for maybe 8 years or more where as the ordinary bushes will get torn in use after a few years. Now that you have put the crappy early ARB in the bin and sorted out the equally crappy voided TCA rear bushes (also need to go in the bin), you can start getting back to enjoying the car - until it hits your wallet again!

Four wheel alignment and still got a heavy pull to the left - could any sort of fault in the rear suspension show as wear in the front tyres??
