Help Fitting GTi Middle Bumper Grille

Post by 3LL1077 »

I need your help asap guys!

I have a 6n2 1,4 16v 2 door polo.

I have fitted a gti grille, and the grilles around the fog lights. But i cant seem to get the middle grille off.

Now ive looked in the haynes manual and it says i need to undo the torx screws and take the bumper off!!

I dont have any torx screwdrivers.

Can anyone help?!

Pm me plzzzz

Thanks guys

I dont think it is screwed on (lower, grill bumper). I was sure it just came out on my last polo without any screws being there.

Someone else will confirm though...

the lower middle grill is just clipper in. i believe its 8 clips 4 top and 4 bottom. if u have a thin flat head screwdriver it will make life a hell of a lot easier. just a question of finding the clips. or u could do wat i did. i pulled mine of and some clips broke so now i use 2 small black screws to attach it to the vertical thin plastic bars behind the grill. screw it to the 2 outer ones. also makes it easier for next time i take it of to continue my work when i finally get time of work.

Loop 2 pieces of strong-ish wire through the grille either ends, and pull hard. It should come out pretty easy.

Other than that, you can use zip-ties, and repeat the method above.

Often snaps all the clips inside the bumper and on the grille lol!!

Bumper off is the easiest method by any means (tho some havent got the heart to start taking their car to bits!!)
