CUP Bodykit

Post by MateyGuv »

Loads of people have PM'd me about where I got the Cup kit from and how easy it was to fit, so instead of replying to each person individually thought I'd post this.

Not telling you!!!!!!!!!

I got all the kit from Martin at VAG Parts Ltd 01793 487700. If you call him and mention James from BMW (thats me, by the way) and UK-Polos.net he will be able to get all the part numbers I needed from my order and by mentioning the forum he will do a good price. Apparently I was the first in the UK to get the complete kit and it was a bit hit and miss for the exact parts I needed. I have the spoiler, which is in 3 pieces to fit. If you are going to do the spoiler as well you will need the standard 3rd brake light as the GTi one is different and will not fit.

Putting it all together was a bit of a challenge - loads and loads of bits and no instructions!! Once its all in front of you though you'll figure it out. You will loose the fog lights though and if you have headlight washers they wont be able to be kept - a sacrifice I was more than prepared to make. As its all VW parts it all fitted together on the car no worries. I had to drill the rear bumper to fit my park sensors which was tricky, but if you aint got them its no probs. I actually ordered this kit 8 months before collecting my GTi, VW were not very helpful in supplying it all - Martin was a superstar though and managed to get it for me - Top fella!!

.............In all its glory

Don't think they do GTIs in Cornflower Blue either!

I like those 17'' GTI style rims though. I think I may look into a set of those sometime.:)

I would just like to add that the blue polo with the cup kit in "dino's" post is not a gti,
its a standard 1.4
the whole kit including the headlamps, grill, and bumpers was supplied by me.
proved to be a headache to get hold of.
Just wana say thanks to Mitesh for being patient.
to be honest i have not even seen the car since the kit was fitted.
thanks for finding the pic
