CD Changer and iPod help - Please...

Post by chrisash32 »

Hi guys,
Just getting round to sorting the audio out in my new Altea and have come across a problem. It has a CD Changer but I want to use my iPod kit in the car.
Now I know most people will say remove the CD changer and use the iPod. But I want to use both...
Most will say its impossible, but I have seen somewhere on the Internet a company selling an adapter harness so you can run both of them and switch between them with a hidden switch...

I can’t for the life of me find where I have seen it before, I am sure it was on a forum. Has anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

Chris

It can be done - but its rather fiddly - one way to do it is to split the +12V output on the back of the radio at the changer port to both the adapter and the changer with a three pole switch inbetween mounted into the dash or something....thats an easy way to make it work :)

thanks alex, i dont really want to go chopping wires. So i would prefer to find the right item for the job.

If it comes to a last resort, i might try and make my own but with the correct block connectors...

thanks

Chris
