how much would you pay?

Post by Tim_GTi »

Everyone seems to be selling up, and theres some good cars going!!! so am CONSIDERING selling my 5 door and buying a 3 door in replacement!

Am just wondering how much you think i'd get for mine?

will go back to standard expect for maybe the audio setup

The spec

X reg Black 5 door GTi,

full VW service history,

40, 000 miles

Tax and MOT 6 months

bought it from a dealer for 5.5k back in May where he gave the all four rims a refurb

A majority of my mods have been restoring things e.g centre caps, repainted calipers, interior handles etc etc so its in MINT condition.

back to standard then it should in all fairness go for book price....but where the gti's arent as widely available as other cars people will pay more

also it swings both ways when it comes to selling a modded car

i have no idea what my car would go for right now....????

Current prices are all over the place.

Just had a quick look on AutoTrader and the range is from £3'395 to £5'495 for 5 door GTis.

Primarily depends on how quickly you want to sell it I guess!

Depends who you want to advertise to I guess. On here and other VW forums you're mainly appealing to a more specific audience, whereas eBay and Autotrader obviously appeals to a much broader spectrum of potential buyers.

Don't forget Pistonheads either, free for private Ads and probably somewhere in between specific and general buyers.
