Would a performance exhaust do anything significant for a 1.9 SDI engine ?

Don't think it would tbh, the sound may suggest a better feel but I doubt that the exhaust is really restricting the engine.

Wouldn't hurt, but won't help much either. I guess you should get one if you want the sound, but don't expect any (substantial) gains.
