mk 2 polo s engine spec

Post by Buzz »

i have a mk 2 polo s on a f reg now ive looked on that litle sticker in the boot and it said that its a gt :? i was just wondering what sorta power i should be expecting from it as it is and what sorta power i could get from it??? ive got some tuned bike carbs to go on her and also putting on a side exit, gt cam, reworked head and 4 branch, has any one else got any idea's what else i can do with out going down the turbo or supercharged route and what sorta BHP should i be expecting after my mods?

Thank you

mk2 coupe s is 55bhp. the s is a rebadged , despec'd and detuned gt. in germany they were sold as gt and had 75bhp if my memory sever me correctly. ive no idea what bits were different to alter the power output though, they were never available in the uk in 75bhp form
go have a look on polog40.co.uk under the history section, there is lots of info on there

its a F reg that means a mk2 the S was a gt in germany but only 55bhp 1300 carbed MH engine and was the same engine in uk and germay. the 75bhp was the mk3 which was fuel injection.
