Do you have a rear aero wiper? if not, get yourself to the dealers and buy one, mine cost me £20 for the arm, blade and cap. It takes 2 minutes to fit and works much better.

Is it a metal framed wiper or one with a plastic cover over 3/4 of the wiper arm?

You can either just buy a blade from VW if you dont have an Areo wiper (like on my old Polo below) or replace it with the Aero wiper (which is just sexy!)
Alex - can you post/PM me the part numbers and price for a complete areo wiper for the Polo and front Area Wipers for a 2003 Golf GT TDI please? I need to replace the ones on the Golf.

Under the cap is a 10 or 12mm bolt. You'll probably need some WD40 to free it up as mine had rusted on slightly. Pull the old wiper off and stick the new one on and re-do the bolt!
