arghhhh miss my gti

Post by shantybeater »

ahh man I had a quick look through my old photos...missing my gti alot! its such a nice looking car and maybe it isnt as fast as the cupra but it really is eye candy...i even miss spending 2 hours cleaning & polishing my RM's, nothing is as satisfying as seeing a gleeming rim, especially staggered...

just hope shes being looked after out there! anyone seen it out and about?? its in the midlands at the mo

a photo for old times sake

Don't worry James, I'll sort my wheels out and post some pictures for you, it'll be almost like old times for you!

Looking forward to having staggered RMs on my car next year :D

Pettsy spotted your old car in Chesterfield, it was in the Spotted section on ClubPolo ;)

Cheers

I'v been considering selling mine for an Ibiza Cupra R for the last few days and realised that if it's such a hard choice to make it can't be what i really want!

So I think i'm just going to look into a 1.8t for the polo or see what i can do to tune the 1.6 lump.

chesterfield! thats where he lives i think!

tim - looking at around 600-700 in good condition with extended lips, maybe more, i did a straight swap with someone off here for my RXII 16's, almost brand new with tyres...for the RM's without tyres...which ended up with two bent outer lips on the front :x

si - yeah it will be nice to see one so similar!, will definately need to get some shots of it at the next show!

tom - no the the burn didnt help haha although whipping your ass did!

I got mine from German eBay but your best bet is to sign up to the Edition38 forums and keep an eye on the Tyres & Wheels area in the For Sale section. They come up quite regularly in varying conditions and widths etc.

Mine, last season just gone, were the standard 6.5" dishes all round. They are going to become 7" on the front and either 7.5" or 8" on the back over the winter 8)

your prayers might have been answered jason!

http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.p ... ntry840260

looks like the guy who bought it off me wants to sell it on due to the power drop from his ibiza, I can vouch for good service history, did the cambelt at VW along with 60k service & a full check up which cost an arm & a leg! The engine is in fantastic nick & i have had no gearbox issues in the time I owned it, brand new toyos all round etc..

I looked after it meticulously so perhaps you should drop him a PM
