Aero wipers: Lupo GTi or VAG Parts kit??

Post by lyndarthemerciless »

Right - hoping you lads can help me out with this!

Really want to get some front aero wipers sorted. Thing is, I dunno whether to go with the Lupo GTi wipers with 2 passenger arms or to get the kit from VAG Parts.

I'm not too fussed cost-wise, just want to avoid the problems that some people seem to have had with fitment (rubbing the edge of the bonnet/rubbing scuttle panel on the driver's side/tapping against the driver's side when it reaches the top etc).

Or should I just give up on replacing the arms too & just get the blades themselves off wiperblades.co.uk?

What you reckon..?

You can get retrofit aero wipers. Where they just clip on exactly like the standard blades means you dont have to change the wiper arms or anything and give out the same quaity if yuo did change the arm it's self. i must say it's a great improvement cleans the window a whole lot better and lasts longer than the standard blades. You can buy these retrofit baldes from this llink here: www.wiperblades.co.uk. Hope that helps.

Edit: Didnt read your post properly , yeah as 8080 said they do look a tiny bit different but they are cheaper

The vagparts kit is 2x lupo passenger arms and blades :D

The retro-fit blades are cheaper, but I hate the way they look - just my own preference

Ah riiiiight! Thanks for that man.

Yeh I definitely prefer the look of them with the arms changed too but I'm kind of wondering now if I should just go retrofit to avoid the problems with the lupo arms marking the scuttle cover/catching the bonnet and what not...

I see you've done a DIY guide - is it still working out ok for you?

Yeah, I like them but they're tricky to get right. But I got my wiper arms on ebay for 99p- tbh the mod probably isn't worth £60 or whatever vagparts are charging

I'm from Dublin too, check out www.vagdrivers.net for meets, shows etc
