Anyone beat my MPG record?

god what i'd do for that kind of mileage, when i plant my foot down the mpg reading goes down to 8mpg.....at moment this car is costing me a fortune on fuel, i spend about 15 quid every two days if im cautious and im a student!

i worked out my MPG for the gti for the first time the other day. 35mpg, which i didnt think was bad. that was a mixture of town driving and a motorway drive up to newcastle.

only got the car a couple of weeks ago, so, as you can imagine, ive been booting it most of the time!!

Got 355 miles out of mine when i drove it back from Dundee to chesterfield, didn't set off to see what i could get out of it, and that included shoving my mate in my mk3 golf gti anni along the A66 to scotch corner, i love that road!

last tank was 388 miles on 42 litres of v power, thats an average of 42 mpg

im lucky if i ever get over 300 per tank now which is pants and thats not driving it 2 hard i dont do any motorway driving tho.

emmm.....250 miles to a Â£60 tank of V power! Oh the joys of VR6 ownership!!!

what i would give to see 300+ miles to a Â£40 tank again!!!

I never have enough money to fill up a full tank haha! My MPGs crap at the moment though, I think it's because I'm running 32psi all round.
