New Bulbs

Ok my birthdays coming up, and people having been asking me whats a suitable present, so i thought i'd get a complete new set of bulbs seeing as i cut corners last time (bought ebay painted jobs!)

now i know the bulbs are 501 or W5W sidelights, H7 dipped and H1 high beams, i know how to fit them,

and from what i can remember the fogs are H7 aswell?

I was just wondering what bulbs your guys recomend?

are the dipped bulbs worth replacing? or are the OEMs as good as they get?

what fogs and mainbeams can i get that provide a really bright white light?

i've already got LED sidelights, but i want better ones (previous cost me £3 off eBay) any recommendations?

All I can advise for sidelights is it's not worth changing, unless you have to. I had to get mine changed over for the MOT and taking the whole bumper took me a good hour. I have the Philips Blue Vision Sidelights which are a lot whiter than normal. For the others, you'll have to wait for other answers, sorry cant be of much help

I've not changed any bulbs as yet because its too fiddly. Got a pair of Philips high-beam bulbs awaiting fitment one day though

Dipped are D2S, and are a xenon HID bulb. There is no need to change them unless you want them bluer par example, but its fiddly and semi pointless bud.

If you want great high beams, get a set of H1 HID bulbs from www.hids4u.co.uk - You can also get D2S bulbs from here for the dipped in a 6000k if you want to bring them to a nice blue, like mine par example.

LED sidelights from www.ultraleds.co.uk are a good match for xenon bulbs.

Fogs are an H7 bulb and can be just uprated, or HID'd, but you rarely use them so its not a great deal of point.

www.powerbulbs.co.uk does some very good quality bulbs, and if you look in member info, theres a code for us to save 10% online too

PowerPlus or PowerBlue are the ones to go for

The Philips Blue Vision Ultra 4000K +30% interested me, on the main page, for the main bulbs and fogs, £19.45 a set, recommened?

Ive had both powerplus and powerblue. The powerblue provides a nice crisp white, but the powerplus does this and is brighter again - a nice improvement over factory ones.

You get some bluevision sidelights free anyhow, so you can use them as a replacement- theyre nice and white coloured like the lights themselves.

not sure whether to go for these 'wide angle' ones or the clustered LEDs

The little tower one - the last one - are very good

Its a shame they discontinued my ones - a metal cased version and its very good indeed!!

i wont have any problems fitting with the width of them will i? My last ones i got didnt fit through the holes cos they were too wide!
