UPDATES:

Lupo GTi aero wiper front conversion (2x passenger-side arm and blade), Polo 9N3 Bluemotion 280mm rear wiper (arm, cap and blade) and a brand new single-DIN size cubby storage unit:

Sadly the Bluemotion rear wiper, which at 280mm is shorter than the standard 9N/9N3 rear wiper (335mm), still requires trimming down in order to fit without hitting the rear spoiler. This is because although the blade is exactly the same length as the standard 6N2 item, it mounts to the new wiper arm further out from the centre (by about an inch).

A pair of Radinox stainless steel 7" BBS RM outers, courtesy of shantybeater:

These replace my two front RM standard dishes (one of which is dented).

And also, you spotted at the start of my post, mention of a new cubby hole single-DIN unit? Well at the moment I have a GAMMA in the top slot and a 6CD VW in-dash changer in the second slot. These are coming out (for sale shortly) and are being replaced by this, which arrived today:

yes, I'm starting on upgrading the I.C.E. :D

very nice, good choice of headunit as well, alpine are the best for sound quality by far!

Bet that headunit sounds good. I just could of never bought an Alpine as I don't like the looks. Is the bluemotion rear wiper any different to the standard 9N3 rear wiper? It's definately gonna look much better :)

dude i came up with this like 2 years ago :D and if you got them from vag parts its my car on the web site 8)

just remember you need to remove some of the material from the back of the drivers side arm (by the spring) otherwise it catches :D

Ha ha thanks man, yeah I remember when you got them fitted :D I do indeed need to trim some of the metal off the driver-side arm!

Dont trim the blade!!!!!

You can just push the center clip down an inch and do it that way. Trimming the blade is a craaazy thing to do lol :P

Passat estate wiper is identical to the bluemotion - thats what I have fitted to mine and it works a treat. Definately tidies up the rear end of the car for those of us who have rear wipers still!!

Cheers mate, will try it today! And yes, on ETKA its the same part number.

Alun, Bluemotion/Passat estate rear wiper simply has the shorter blade, the arm and cap are identical to the usual aero rear.

I'll pop a couple of pics up later - the Alpine unit though, is bloody awesome :D

Cheers

Its a little difficult to do - may require some light leverage with a small screwdriver, but totally worth it :D

Trimming the blade hasn't worked out for me - the cut end of the rubber has been crushed over time because of the extra curve / pressure.

The last time I got my car serviced VW replaced my cut down blade with a Golf one - it was huge! The s**t even test ran it - I could see the wipe marks on the brake light and tailgate
