I've got the urge.....

Lately (I think it could be boredom related as I've been spending far too much time on the internet due to the dark evenings!) I have had a bad urge to change alloy wheels.
I really like the ones I've got. They are top quality, virtually brand new, and best of all really easy to clean. Also, if I break recent trends and actually keep a car longer than 12 months, I can add a set of big brakes to the car as these have masses of room behind.

But, I just have this nagging thing about getting a set of multi-spoked wheels. I really like the VW Exor and this would keep it OEM. Also the Aristos as fitted to the Cup, but I have never seen a set of these for sale second hand. The TSW Demons also have a bit of appeal to me as they remind me of the Charleston alloys you can get as an optional extra on MK5 Golfs. Then theres the OZ super Ts....plus as an outside bet the BBS wheels off the Dune look pretty meaty.

This to me is the best looking Polo I've ever seen (well the best red one anyway) and I just think the multispokes suit it so well.

And if I had the patience to keep my car for a while this is how I would love my Polo to look.

Any suggestions, or better still can someone talk sense into me......

Okay maybe not the best looking, but I like it. The ride height looks spot on (although it would be far too hard a ride for me I reckon!), the wheels suit it perfectly and I like the standardish look with a few odd details to set it off.

The thing is every time I've had multispokes in the past I've ended up changing them to 5 spokes (like I have now) as I hate cleaning them!!!

Exors have about 20 spokes and I'm sure they'd drive me nuts, but I love 'em on Polos. Anyway I've not seen any up for sale for ages. I can get hold of a set of similar looking Exis wheels cheaply (from a mk5 Golf) but then I would have to get hub adaptors = no longer cheap.

Ahh what to do!

Keep the wheels and go for the brakes, makes the car look different with bigger disks and big calipers at the front. Only problem is the rear disks look lost!

I would have had Super T's (the VW ones as fitted to the CUP are about Â£330 each new!!) if they cleared my brakes but they didnt

Okay after cleaning the car for the first time in a month (not as bad as it sounds as I haven't used it for a couple of weeks!) the BBSs do look good. I think the problem I have is with the ride height.
Now Jeff recommended me the Eibach -30mm springs back along when I asked him which gave the best ride quality on a budget, and as Jeff has had numerous kits I absolutely trust him on this!
But I have still held off as there are numerous speed humps and p*** poor roads near to my house, and it's not the ride height that bothers me but the low speed ride. I just cannot live with any form of crashiness in the suspension and have had several kits in the past which I have had to remove because of this on other cars I've owned. I think the worst of it is that the GTI suspension is quite crashy as standard and I just could not live with it being any worse. Even my mate's Ibiza FR doesn't seem as crashy as the GTI and that's saying something. Anybody got any feedback on this?

Next up is where to get the Eibachs. Cheapest I've seen so far is German ebay at a whisker under Â£100 for the springs. Anyone beat that?

Latest idea (okay it's been knocking around in my head for quite a while now) Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2s.
For: lighter, narrower (less kerb damage and sit better with 205/40s) and vaguely similar to the GTI Cup wheels (I did say vaguely before a certain Andy attacks me!), plus motorsport heritage.

Cons: Not OEM, errr that's about it.

What you reckon? Will they look okay on a non lowered Polo or not?
