Miss fireing!

Post by Andrew_robert87 »

Hey people, the GTi is going wrong again! not long after me fixing the ABS problem, this is happeing to me now!
Kronic missfireing! mostly in second and third, put my foot flat to the floor and all i get it ....gggggrrrrrgggrrrr... then it goes. just shudders like a biatch the ''CHECK' the engine light comes on.

had it plugged into a diagnostic machine with my mate and it came up with 'Cylinder 2 - misfire detected'

any ideas wat i should do or has anyone had this problem???

thanks guys :D

Happend to mine ( amounst the other 29302 things) changed lead 2 - as that was the one i could see wee sparks coming from when i was looking at it - temp wrapped eletrical tape around it to seal it untill VW got me a new one.

Most people recommend a full new set and spark plugs - but if you can find out what lead it is replace that - then get 4 new sparks 8)

Well I'd guess that as cylinder 2 is showing a misfire on diagnostics, changing that lead and possibly spark plug would be a good place to start.

Id never just change 1 always do them as a set. Most prob it works out cheaper to buy a set than 1 now and 1 later on
