Coilover questions

Whats the main difference between different coilovers on different cars?

Would Lupo GTI coilovers fit on the Polo?

different geometry and fixing points, top mount fixings may vary, droplink locations, damping rate, spring rate will often change.

lupo ones will not fit without a fair bit of work, is my guess.

I thought about the weights, spring tension etc. But isnt the top mount just the same, as in just fixes in with the top plate then the nut. Maybe the fixings to the hub/brake area arent the same dimensions.

I think that depends on the car.

as does the overall length of the strut, the strut diameter (could be the same), and the drop link mounting point.

everything as dave mentioned above to be honest is absolutely right, the lupo gear will defo not fit as strut lengths and fixings are different
